This article explains how to add Hover Map Animation, Moving Map Animation, Portrait, Battle Animation while porting FE7 Lyn to FE8.

Porting Waiting Icon.

Let's start two FEBuilderGBAs, let FE7 on one side and FE8 on the other side.
From FE7, take the lyn's data into FE 8.

From the FE7 side, export the Hover Map Animation.

Extra Portrait palette

For portrait, you can set a palette of 15 colors + 1 color (transparent color) for each character.

When changing the palette, please change the palette of the exported image with graphic software etc.
The palette of the imported image is used as it is.

Porting battle animation.

Extra1 Battle animation and weapons.

Battle animation has several patterns.
This time, the attack ID to attack with the sword was 0x03,
but, There is another motion ID: 0x04 that does not have a sword.

If you aim for perfection, you also need porting here.

There are basically six motions.

have a Sword
have a Lance
have a Axs
have a Bow
have a Magic or Staff
When using items or nothing


However, there is a hand-ax in the exception.
For the hand-ax, you have to set hand-ax motion for each item.

If you forget this, equip a hand-ax and enter the battle animation, the game freezes.

If you add a hand-ax item or add an ax, make sure to set the hand-ax motion setting.


Extra2 colors.

If you want to change the color for each class, you can do it from the Character palette.
